Re: Cascade Swim Club By-law Changes
Dear Cascade Parent:
First, let me introduce myself. My name is Lee Fitch. I have the honor of following Melinda Giovengo as President of the Cascade Swim Club.
At the last Board meeting we (the Board) recommended changes to the Club’s by-laws. These changes require notification to the Club members and ratification of the changes at a general meeting of the Club. This general meeting will be the Fall Picnic on October 3, 2009.
Enclosed, you will find the proposed changes to the by-laws. Here is a very general summary:
1)    We have asked to add one more voting member to the board.
2)    We have asked to have one member of the Board be a parent of a past swimmer of the Club (i.e. a parent of a graduate leaving Cascade Swim Club).
3)    We have asked the current non-voting position held by a senior swimmer be changed to a non-voting position of a past (graduating) swimmer.
4)    We have asked that notice to membership by E-mail be sufficient in formal Club matters, replacing mailed notice as the sole method of Club notification.
I hope this brief description along with the actual by-law language is helpful.
On Saturday, October 3, 2009 Rene Folk will present these proposed changes to the members as part of the general meeting. Rene will be able to address any of your questions. Please speak with her prior to the vote on these by-law changes.
I look forward to working with you and Cascade Swim Club.
Sincerely,
Lee Fitch
