How to Report Work Share Hours
1. HOURS WORKED OUTSIDE OF A MEET:
You need to send an email to me: dianethomas@msn.com in the subject line write: "work share hours". Please list your total hours by date with a brief description such as "10/3 sold shirts @ picnic 2.5 hrs". I will log the hours to your account and follow-up with a email to confirm that they have been received.
2. HOURS WORKED AT A CASCADE HOSTED MEET
When you sign up for a job using the online Job Signup, it will generate a list that we will have at the meet for you to sign in/out at the Clerk of Course. Please be sure that when you arrive at the meet, you sign in with your initials and when you are done you fill in your total hours worked to sign out. This is the only way I can confirm that you worked your hours. If you do not sign in, you will not get credit for your hours. For credit of Hospitality and Concessions donations, I will receive a list confirming that the items were received.
3. HOURS WORKED AT MEETS THAT CASCADE HAS A REQUIRED OBLIGATION.
For championship meets such as PNS Champs/Sectional and some away meets, we are required to provide help. Most cases we will be able to create an on line signup. But it would be best to email me your hours as stated in option 1.
*Please note: if you work at a meet not hosted by Cascade, other than stated above, hours worked do not fulfill your Cascade Work share requirement unless you are working as an Official at a meet that Cascade is a participant.
How to Check Your Work Share Hours
You can view your work share hours at any time. Go to "My Invoice/Payment" on the left hand side of the home page, then click on the Volunteer Hours tab (aka Work Share Hours) to view the status of your current Obligation.
Cascade Swim Club Work Share Policy
(Adopted June 17, 2008, Amended June 2009)
Swimming is a labor-intensive sport. It requires significant commitment on the part of the child and parent to have a successful swim program and a functional organization. The goals of this policy are to foster parent involvement in Cascade, equally distribute the work among all families, and put procedures in place that will ensure long-term viability for the club.
REQUIREMENTS: Each family of a swimmer in Age Group 3 or High school development will be required to work a minimum of 10 hours each year their child is registered to swim. A minimum of 25 hours will be required for families of all other swimmers. The minimum work-share requirement will be waived for families of Age Group 3 swimmers in their first year of participation with Cascade. However, we do encourage these families to volunteer time because it is a great way to get to know swimmers and their parents.
Families with swimmers in multiple age groups will work the minimum number of hours required of the group in which their highest-level child is swimming. Hours will be pro-rated at a rate of 2.5 hours/mo. if joining the club late or leaving the club midseason. Hours not worked will be billed at a rate of $20/hr. Hours must be completed by the last session of the Long Course PNS Championship meet. Returning families including graduated senior swimmers who fail to fulfill their work share obligation from the previous year, must pay the work-share fee prior to acceptance of their registration.
CONDITIONS: Hours cannot be banked or carried over from one year to the next. All hours must be accrued during CSC sponsored events, this may include committees, banquets, or meets in which CSC has volunteer obligations. Any hours worked as an official at a meet on the regular CSC schedule may be submitted for workshare credit. Each family is expected to volunteer at every CSC hosted meet in which their child participates even if they have completed their work-share requirements.
HOURS TRACKING: It is the responsibility of the family to ensure that their hours worked are reported to a work-share coordinator (WSC), and appropriately documented. Hours worked at CSC sponsored swim meets are documented on the hours tracking form kept at Clerk of Course. Hours worked outside of meets can be sent on a monthly basis to a WSC. All hours should be documented even if the family has completed their annual work-share requirement. Hours will be posted to each family’s account once a month.
Food donation: 1 hour is equal to 5 dozen items cooked or baked or a $20 product donation.
